Compared with other cloud lab software

There are several good hosted lab systems sold in India, and if one of them fits your lab you should buy it. This page is about the differences that are easy to check rather than the ones you have to take on trust: what the format library actually contains, what the analyser wording really means, what a plan costs, and which modules are simply missing here.

What other cloud lab software does well

Worth reading first. If these three things are what your lab depends on, the rest of this page may not change your mind.

  • Most have been in production longer, which means they have already met edge cases this system has not.
  • Many sell on-site installation, analyser commissioning and telephone support as part of the price, which matters if nobody in the lab wants to configure software.
  • Several cover whole modules that do not exist here at all, such as insurance and TPA claims, reagent inventory and document control for accreditation.

Side by side

Scroll the table sideways on a phone; the first column stays put. The rows marked not available are the ones where this system is the worse choice.

Where this system and other cloud lab software differ, including the rows where it loses.
What you are comparingother cloud lab softwareThis system
Insurance and TPA claimsOften available as a moduleNot availableYou can record how a bill was settled. Filing, tracking and reconciling a claim is not part of this system.
Reagent and consumable inventoryCommonly includedNot availableExpenses are recorded by category and branch, which is accounting rather than stock control.
Prices published on the websiteSometimes; often a form and a call-backEvery plan and every limit is on the pricing page
Billing periodFrequently a yearly commitment for the advertised rateMonthly only, cancel any time; the published rate is the monthly rate
Trying itUsually a short trial after a demo callA Free plan that does not expire, and a 14-day Growth trial with no card
The format library, before you sign upDescribed by a count, rarely shownEvery multi-parameter format has its own page on this site, with its parameters, units and ranges
Analyser wordingRead the fine print: “integration” can mean anything from a driver to a CSV importCodes mapped once, then CSV rows or the API; HL7 and ASTM parsing is planned, not shipped
Where the data sitsWorth asking directly, and getting in writingHosted in India, and every list exports to CSV
Report template controlVaries from a few themes to a full editorLetterhead, patient fields, result columns, font size, margins, two signatories and footer lines
Report verification by the patientIncreasingly common, sometimes chargeableA QR code on every released report, with an optional date-of-birth or patient-code challenge
Per-message chargesOften sold as SMS credits on top of the planA monthly WhatsApp and SMS allowance in the plan, with your own gateway account behind it
How a claim on the site is checkedScreenshots and a demoEach capability paragraph names the repository file it comes from
Single sign-onAvailable on enterprise tiers of some productsNot availableSign-in is email and password with rate limiting. There is no SAML, no OIDC and no two-factor authentication yet.
Accreditation document controlSometimes a module of its ownNot availableThe audit trail and the released-result snapshots are records you can produce; managing your quality manual is not in scope.

Switching, step by step

Every step below is manual. There is no import: your old reports and registers stay where they are, and this system starts from the day you begin. Tick the steps off as you go; the ticks are saved in this browser only.

0 of 8 steps ticked off. Every one of them is yours to do.

Then what

Two pages worth opening before you decide.

Pricing

Every plan, every limit and the trial terms, with prices shown before GST and billed monthly only.
